Today is Rachie's third birthday!
I can't believe she is already 3 years old. Such a big girl now! We had my side of the fmaily over for cake and ice cream (Grandpa and Grandma Ard already gave her their gift and they are out of town this weekend). It was crazy. Kids were all over the place. I had a hard time taking pictures in all the chaos.
Her theme was Abby Cadabby, so everything was pink and lavender. She told me she wanted to have pink cake and pink pop, so I did strawberry cupcakes with pink, lavender and blue (Abby colors) sprinkles, raspberry sherbet and the raspberry sherbet punch. We had pizza, salad and pop for dinner.
She had fun opening her gifts, and was so cute about being sure to "read" all the cards when she got a present. I will post a few pics after I get them loaded.
She is such a sweet girl! I am so happy we have her!!!!!

Where did we go wrong?
I swear, Rebekah is going to be the death of me. I sometimes watch her behavior and wonder what the heck Steve and I did wrong that made her this way! Did we love her too much? Tell her she was important a few too many times? I can't figure out why a child who used to be so sweet and loving has turned into this selfish, mean, disrespectful monster.
This morning, I got out the old soccer cleats, socks and shinguards to have Jake try them on for his first soccer practice tonight. She started throwing a fit about him trying on her old shinguards and shoes. She was seriously lying there on the floor, CRYING about it. Then, when his cleats from last year didn't fit, and I was trying on her pair from last year, she took the right shoe and put it on her foot and refused to take it off so that Jake could try it on. She isn't even playing soccer this fall! She chose basketball instead. I seriously have no idea how to deal with her at this point. We have tried grounding her, extra chores, spanking, time out, loss of privledges, earlier bedtimes, taking away her toys and books, giving her naps, even making her pay us money when she misbehaves. NOTHING WORKS! So, now I am off to spend money on a new pair of cleats for Jake since Becka refuses to let me try hers on him. I told her that when it comes time for her to get basketball shoes, she can forget it. She can just wear regular tennis shoes since she is acting this way. I don't have the 30 bucks to spend on his shoes when he could possibly wear her old ones. I can't even get her to let him TRY them on. GAH!!!! I swear, she should have been my brother's kid. I never acted like this!
Jake doesn't act this way, even Rachel has more self control than Becka does. I swear, the child needs anger management classes.

Time to breathe!
Whew! It has been a crazy couple of weeks. Our trip to Boise was fun fun fun and we have been running around crazy busy since we got home. We went to OMSI, Steve's work picnic (in 102 degree weather...ugh), then had family birthdays and other crazy stuff going on. We leave on Thursday for the beach and will be back Sunday night. Hopefully next week will be less crazy, especially since school will be starting the week after that and I need to get the kids back into their schedules.
Jake starts soccer tomorrow night. I need to have him try on all the cleats we have and the shin guards and socks to make sure we have some that will fit him. I kept all of Becka's old cleats and shorts, thinking that he could use them, but his feet were bigger than hers were when he started. LOL, my boy is gonna be tall like his daddy. Maybe Rachie will be able to use them.
It's official...I am now the YW secretary. I am excited about it, but very nervous. I always feel so intimidated and inadequate around the YW. I know I will feel better once I get to know them. They are all super friendly, so that will be lots of fun. Plus, I know a lot of them from when I was the Primary President. I am kind of sad to let go of my old calling as Ward Music Chair. It was fun doing that. I have only been sad to stop a calling a few times, and this is one of those times. I hope I get to do it again someday!
I had an Usborne book show tonight. I did it because I thought I would get double the free books in the month of August...turns out that is only if you make a $400 show. I haven't even hit $200 yet. I sent out about 20 invitations, but only 7 people came and only about 4 people actually let me know they would be there. It is frustrating to not know how many to expect. Oh well! I got a few books for my kiddos for Christmas from it! I even bought one for me. It is a Fairy cookbook and has all sorts of fun, tiny, delicate foods to make! I am such a little kid! Especially when it comes to books!
I have added tons of pictures to my dropshots page. Lots of fun ones from the past few weeks. I will get some of the best ones up on here, but if you feel like looking, go to www.dropshots.com/punkinmama. My most recent uploads start on the day where Rach is in her tutu. We went to the fair that night with Dana and Derek, so the pics added onto the ones already there for that day. Kylie and Rachie had fun together, and they even got to go on a ride together!
Our photography business is going fairly well. I am anxious about it though. Steve is getting lots of people interested in family portraits and senior pics, etc. I haven't had any time to do my part, which is the child/infant photography and I also love taking landscapes. It feels like "our" photography business (which was my hobby/passion to begin with) is turning into "Steve's" photography business. He just has more chances to go out without the kids and do it. I am not confident enough with the technical side of the equipment to do those types of shoots on my own. Angie has let me take a few pics of Karlee here and there, but we haven't ever had a real shoot. I really want to do Kelsie and Rachie...I think we could get some cute pics of the two girls. Need to make Kelsie a tutu, and they can be ballerinas together!
I am in total denial that Rachie will be 3 in a week and a half. She is finished potty training, hasn't had an accident in over a week! I was a bit nervous about our trip. I figured she would either do fine, or totally regress, especially being on the road in the car for that length of time. She did awesome though! She only had 2 accidents the whole time we were in Boise, and those were mostly because she was playing and didn't get into the bathroom quite fast enough. She cracks me up though because she is very particular about the amount of help you can give her in the bathroom. It is never the same though, so you never know what to expect. Sometimes she wants to do it all on her own and other times I have to be in there holding her on the toilet. Silly kid!
OK, off to bed. I am reading a new book series, Pendragon, and am finally getting into the first book enough that I don't want to put it down! Gonna be another night of reading! Poor Steve! He is usually pretty nice about me reading with my lamp on though.
I will post pictures tomorrow! Have a happy day!

See ya later!
We are headed off to Boise for our vacation in the morning. We don't get to go to Roy or Rexburg this time, gas is too spendy. I am sad about that. I will be back next week with lots of pictures and some stories to share, I'm sure!
Have a fun week!

Breaking Dawn!
All I can say is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!
You have to read the book! Hurry up and finish so I have someone to talk to about it!!
Melisa, Angie, Christe, my mom and Melissa's mom went to a midnight release party at Borders on Friday night. Felt a little funny, since there were like, a million 13 year old girls there. We totally rocked the Twilight Trivia game and fought our side in the Jacob vs. Edward debate. It was so fun. Best part was that I won a gift basket full of cool stuff and it also had a bracelet to get me third place in line to get the book!!! We were the first ones out of the store with our books in hand! THAT WAS AWESOME!
I will get my pics up after I get them loaded and edited. We all wore our matching t-shirts. It was a lot of fun. I am now stuck wondering if there is life after Twilight??? At least I have the movies to look forward to now!
