Whew! It has been a crazy couple of weeks. Our trip to Boise was fun fun fun and we have been running around crazy busy since we got home. We went to OMSI, Steve's work picnic (in 102 degree weather...ugh), then had family birthdays and other crazy stuff going on. We leave on Thursday for the beach and will be back Sunday night. Hopefully next week will be less crazy, especially since school will be starting the week after that and I need to get the kids back into their schedules.
Jake starts soccer tomorrow night. I need to have him try on all the cleats we have and the shin guards and socks to make sure we have some that will fit him. I kept all of Becka's old cleats and shorts, thinking that he could use them, but his feet were bigger than hers were when he started. LOL, my boy is gonna be tall like his daddy. Maybe Rachie will be able to use them.
It's official...I am now the YW secretary. I am excited about it, but very nervous. I always feel so intimidated and inadequate around the YW. I know I will feel better once I get to know them. They are all super friendly, so that will be lots of fun. Plus, I know a lot of them from when I was the Primary President. I am kind of sad to let go of my old calling as Ward Music Chair. It was fun doing that. I have only been sad to stop a calling a few times, and this is one of those times. I hope I get to do it again someday!
I had an Usborne book show tonight. I did it because I thought I would get double the free books in the month of August...turns out that is only if you make a $400 show. I haven't even hit $200 yet. I sent out about 20 invitations, but only 7 people came and only about 4 people actually let me know they would be there. It is frustrating to not know how many to expect. Oh well! I got a few books for my kiddos for Christmas from it! I even bought one for me. It is a Fairy cookbook and has all sorts of fun, tiny, delicate foods to make! I am such a little kid! Especially when it comes to books!
I have added tons of pictures to my dropshots page. Lots of fun ones from the past few weeks. I will get some of the best ones up on here, but if you feel like looking, go to www.dropshots.com/punkinmama. My most recent uploads start on the day where Rach is in her tutu. We went to the fair that night with Dana and Derek, so the pics added onto the ones already there for that day. Kylie and Rachie had fun together, and they even got to go on a ride together!
Our photography business is going fairly well. I am anxious about it though. Steve is getting lots of people interested in family portraits and senior pics, etc. I haven't had any time to do my part, which is the child/infant photography and I also love taking landscapes. It feels like "our" photography business (which was my hobby/passion to begin with) is turning into "Steve's" photography business. He just has more chances to go out without the kids and do it. I am not confident enough with the technical side of the equipment to do those types of shoots on my own. Angie has let me take a few pics of Karlee here and there, but we haven't ever had a real shoot. I really want to do Kelsie and Rachie...I think we could get some cute pics of the two girls. Need to make Kelsie a tutu, and they can be ballerinas together!
I am in total denial that Rachie will be 3 in a week and a half. She is finished potty training, hasn't had an accident in over a week! I was a bit nervous about our trip. I figured she would either do fine, or totally regress, especially being on the road in the car for that length of time. She did awesome though! She only had 2 accidents the whole time we were in Boise, and those were mostly because she was playing and didn't get into the bathroom quite fast enough. She cracks me up though because she is very particular about the amount of help you can give her in the bathroom. It is never the same though, so you never know what to expect. Sometimes she wants to do it all on her own and other times I have to be in there holding her on the toilet. Silly kid!
OK, off to bed. I am reading a new book series, Pendragon, and am finally getting into the first book enough that I don't want to put it down! Gonna be another night of reading! Poor Steve! He is usually pretty nice about me reading with my lamp on though.
I will post pictures tomorrow! Have a happy day!
