Irritated

I. AM. SO. MAD.

Jake is in the school play this year. The director is a lady from my ward at church and she asked me (after play practices had already begun) if Jake would like a non-speaking part since they needed someone about his age to fill a part. I asked Jake and he was really excited about it. This started the chaos. I have never known from day one when exactly his practices were. The director told me that she would email me the info, but I never saw anything. I got numerous calls from the school saying, "Jake thought he had play practice, but he didn't, he needs someone to come and get him." The teacher and secretary must think I am a complete nut case. Can't even keep track of my kid.
When school started up after Christmas break, I figured I would hear from her when the practices were starting up again, so I just waited and didn't send him. Yesterday at church, I grabbed her and asked. Here is our conversation.

Me:"Hey, does Jake have play practice this week anytime?"
Her:"Oh yeah, he missed them last week, he was supposed to be there. He has practice all week this week and dress rehearsal is on Friday, you have his costume, right?"
Me;"Uh...no. I hadn't heard anything about it and I don't even know WHEN the play is."
Her:"Oh, um, well, that's because I never added you to my email list. We have the performances next week (Wed, Jan 21 and Thurs, Jan.22)"

She then gives me the practice info and tell me that the costumes are available on Target.com, but have been sold out for the most part. I guess there is a pattern that is similar enough to the store bought ones that I can make. She emailed the costume lady's name to us today.

So now, I am kind of upset. I mean, I am not trying to be a space cadet, but when someone tells me that she will email me the info any time we talk about it, I figure that when she needs to let me know of something, she will. I didn't push it or want to bug her by calling repeatedly. So now I am trying to figure out how to get Jakey a costume by Friday. I haven't heard back from the official costume lady yet. I do know that when I was talking to the director before about costumes, they were gonna be 50 dollars and that wasn't even for the whole costume. Ugh! I don't have 50 bucks floating around to buy a costume for a play that my child doesn't even speak in!

NUNCA JAMAS!!!!! (Never again!)

Stuff like this bothers me too. It isn't like our lives aren't busy as it is. (Especially when you consider that she initiated the whole thing.)
On the other hand, I bet Jake will do well. I hope he has a great time with it! I wish we could go and see it! Whats a few thousand miles, right!

That is frustrating! I would probably at that time just have dropped it. But I am sure Jake was really excited to participate
