OPK

OPK= Other People's Kids

I am such a brat. Lately when my kids have been playing with friends, those friends REALLY annoy me! It isn't all of their friends, just a certain few. They don't listen, mess up my house, and are kind of rude to me. I hope my kids are better at other people's houses than these kiddos are at ours!

Only my son!

So, today, Jake and Rach were in the tub and Jake starts yelling that she pooped. As I was cleaning it out, he stood, watching me with disgust all over his face. He told me,"I am glad that I am gonna be a dad who goes to work when I grow up so that if I have a baby who poops in the tub, I won't have to be the one to clean it up."

I laughed so hard! I love the wisdom that comes from the mouths of babes!

Not fair

Yes, I am going to whine for a bit. Why is it that I have tried my whole life to do the "right things" and follow what I have been taught, but have nothing to show for it? I look at other people (who shall remain nameless), who make stupid selfish choices, only think of themselves, don't take care of the things and people they should and yet they are out living the life! Must be nice. I guess I am jealous. I don't understand why I can't have some of the things they do. I am doing what I am supposed to do...taking care of my family, going to church, etc etc and I can barely make ends meet, but they are out there having wonderful, exciting experiences, making and spending tons of money, neglecting their children so that they can get ahead, and it is working out wonderfully for them. Sometimes I want to just scream.

Relief?

Well, the Enrichment dinner is over. HOORAH! I thought it went well, and most of the ladies enjoyed it. We did have one of the women complain quite rudely about the food. I am so asking her to be in charge of the dinner for the next time.

Now I just have to get caught up around the house. It is bad. I have tons of laundry and dishes, not to mention needing to do some deep cleaning. I still don't have my xmas decorations out. I have never been this late on that before. If it wasn't for the kids, I don't think I would do it at all. I need to mail my AB baby's gift out asap, but can't find a good time to go to the post office.

All I want to do is lie in bed and read something good. I think I need a break, but don't know how or when I would get one. Being a sahm is easier than being a working mom, I am sure, but I am feeling overwhelmed and swamped and like I can never catch up. The kids always need something or to be taken somewhere, Steve needs help with this or that...sometimes I just want to tell them to take care of it themselves for once and let me have 20 minutes of peace.

Snow!

It is snowing! Hooray! It isn't sticking though. The rain is supposed to start later today. It was a nice way to wake up on December 1st though. The kids got all bundled up and went outside to play in it this morning. LOL!

We are supposed to get a pretty big storm tomorrow and monday with winds up to about 100+ mph. They say it will be bigger than the Columbus Day Storm back in 1963. That is one that people still talk about. We are prepared though. Have lots of candles and matches, food we can prepare without electricity just in case. I should check the firewood situation. I think we gave most of the big logs away, maybe have to go to Fred Meyer and buy a bundle of it.

I am still stuck here making these darn angels. Why do I get myself into these crazy situations? I still have to make the slideshow. Everything has to be done by Tuesday. I hope that if the power goes out this weekend, it doesn't do it while I am working on the computer doing the slideshow. That would be horrible!

Thank goodness for peanut butter

So, we have transitioned Rachie from her crib to a toddler bed. She has been doing awesome, no getting up, no messing around in the room, etc. She just stays put and goes to sleep. Until today. Instead of napping, she found some silly putty in her room that Becka had hidden. Silly putty is banned in our house, but apparently, Becka had a secret stash. Steve brought Rachie into me and she had a glob of blue silly putty all stuck in her hair. It was in the front, on top of her head. Not far enough down that I could have cut it out and called it bangs though. So, I sat down and fought with her to get it out with peanut butter. Tomorrow I am going through their bedroom and getting rid of anything that she can make a mes of. Yuck!

Relief!

My bazaar was yesterday. I didn't do as well as I have in years past, barely made my part of the table cost back, but it was fun and I enjoyed spending the day with Melissa and getting a break from the kids.
Now I just have to get all my stuff done for December's Christmas Enrichment and I can breathe easier. Our theme this year is "The Errand of Angels." I have to make about 75 angel ornaments, make the invitations and put together a slide show. Oh, and I also have to ask three of the ladies to tell a little story about a time in their lives when someone has been an "angel" for them. On top of that, I am still working on putting together the music for the Christmas program at church for December 23rd. I need to find two more musical numbers. Anyone want to volunteer? LOL!
Rachie and Jake have been sick this week, and are finally beginning to see the end of it. Rachiehad a terrible ear infection and poor Jake has been coughing so much that he was vomiting at times.
I am being bad right now. Church started about 15 minutes ago and we are still home in our jammies. Time to get moving so we can catch the last part. I am just gonna take the kids for Primary. I hate trying to sit through Sacrament meeting with them. They fight and are noisy and Rachie throws fits.
